Assignment Description

Our client in the automotive industry is currently seeking a Software Engineer.

Their development centers heavily around software (SW), and in the next generation of vehicles, they take a giant leap into the future by launching a capable centralized compute platform, hosting most of the active safety, driver support, and vehicle motion control SW. Connecting all exterior sensors to a central computer is a great enabler for in-house SW development, continuous innovation on a stable compute platform, and superior customer offerings. Together with their partners, they are building a modular, service-based perception platform and leading safety and driver support applications. They are setting the scene for future safety innovations as well as autonomous driving features. They deliver on their purpose of providing safe, personal, and sustainable mobility aiming towards a future of Zero Collisions.

In their next generation vehicles, they are building a computer-in-the-car architecture, a key for enabling innovation within areas such as Vehicle Motion, Advanced Connectivity, Machine Learning, and Autonomous Drive. Their mission is to create a Vehicle Control Unit platform using new technologies like DriveOS and NVIDIA’s latest chip technology in combination with more traditional car signaling technologies. This core computer and the corresponding platform will simplify the software/application development to create a safe, reliable, and secure platform for increased innovation and speed.

They are looking for a future team member to enable Software Verification and Validation on Hardware-based Test Environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Software Verification and Validation:
    • Enable software verification and validation processes on hardware-based test environments.
  • Test Environment Development and Maintenance:
    • Develop and maintain hardware-based test environments built around a computer-in-the-car architecture.
    • Ensure these environments can execute relevant test cases for platform, software, and function verification.
  • Innovation and Technology Integration:
    • Work with new technologies like DriveOS and NVIDIA’s latest chip technology in combination with traditional car signaling technologies.
    • Simplify the software/application development process to create a safe, reliable, and secure platform for innovation.
  • Cross-functional Team Collaboration:
    • Work in a small cross-functional team focused on quality and continuous improvements.
    • Collaborate closely with colleagues to define, set up, and configure hardware-based test environments for current and future projects.
  • Software Application and Deployment:
    • Handle software application and deployment on the core computer.
    • Perform modeling work using tools like Matlab and Simulink.
  • Test Automation and Continuous Improvement:
    • Enable test automation, moving towards Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
  • Professional Development and Networking:
    • Grow in competence and understanding of our client’s Next Generation Vehicles and Software Platform.
    • Work closely with other groups within the organization, suppliers, and build a wide professional network.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • M.Sc or a B.Sc within Electronics, Physics, Mechatronics, Software Engineering, or similar.
  • At least 2 years of work experience with Software Development, Verification, and Validation.
  • Fluent in English and can communicate effectively with all types of stakeholders.

Meritorious:

  • Knowledge in vehicle communication such as CAN, LIN, Flexray, Ethernet as well as programming skills in Matlab and Python.
  • Experience in model development in Simulink and familiarity with working according to Agile methods.
  • Knowledge about sensing technologies and perception development methods.
  • Experience from SW platform development, including middleware.
  • Working in hardware-in-loop environments such as dSpace or Vector.
  • Knowledge in vehicle/traffic simulation.
  • Knowledge in integration of sensor technologies (radar, camera, lidar, ultrasonic, etc.)
  • Programming skills in C++.
  • Verification in vehicles at system or functional level or experience from test automation.
  • Knowledge from the development of vehicle software within areas like Vehicle Dynamics, Hybrid and/or electric vehicle development, Active Safety, Connected Vehicles, Autonomous Drive, Vehicle Motion Control, and Protective Safety Systems.

Desired Attributes:

  • Motivated by Challenges: Thrives in complex and innovative environments and passionate about pursuing challenging technology development.
  • Team Player: Excels in teamwork, committed to contributing positively to team dynamics.
  • Lifelong Learner: Possesses a strong desire to learn and share knowledge with colleagues.
  • Effective Communicator: Able to communicate effectively across all organizational levels and with various stakeholders.
  • Analytical Thinker: Approaches problems with a logical and systematic method.
  • Adaptable: Flexible and quick to adjust to new conditions or technologies.
  • Quality Focused: Maintains a high standard of quality with a continuous focus on improvement.
