Our client in the automotive industry is currently seeking a Senior Embedded SW Test Engineer.

The client’s unit, Safe Vehicle Automation, develops and delivers leading-edge Safety and Autonomous Driving solutions. They even control the vehicle’s 6 degrees of freedom of movement in the most energy-efficient way, creating a rewarding and confident driving and riding experience. Their purpose is to develop and deliver Vehicle Motion and Control, ADAS, Highway Pilot, and Protective Safety.

The department, 96200, consists of approximately 200 skilled engineers responsible for everything from research and advanced engineering to the implementation, verification, and validation of current and future customer offers. They also oversee product quality and customer response.

The client’s ART (Agile Release Train) for Protective Safety develops and integrates systems and functionality into a complete product, encompassing SW, HW, ECU, and peripheral sensors. For Protective Safety, electronic sensors and ECUs detect, determine, and activate devices such as airbags and belts in case of an accident. The system protects occupants inside the car and pedestrians outside in a crash situation. Additionally, their ART is responsible for HP GNSS (High-Performance Global Navigation Satellite System), a major contributor to enabling the Highway Pilot functionality.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Plan, perform, and report System, Component, and SW verification/validation both in HIL rigs and in complete vehicles.
  • Develop new test methods for automated testing and write test code based on requirements.
  • Analyze test results, both their own and those of suppliers, and communicate with involved parties.
  • Investigate and improve test environments to ensure they meet the needs of future platforms.
  • Engage in problem-solving, fault tracing, and debugging.
  • Participate in technical discussions and decision-making processes.
  • Actively support team collaboration and improvements in Ways of Working (WoW).

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electronics, or a related field is required. Other recognized engineering qualifications combined with relevant experience may also be considered.
  • Experience in testing within a safety-critical system and a passion for improving the area and personal development.
  • Familiarity with SW/System Testing, Canoe, VTestStudio, CAPL, and other Vector Tools and Systems.
  • Proficiency in test automation and vehicle electrical architecture.
  • Experience in HIL development, building, and improving test environments.

Well Acquainted With:

  • Communication protocols such as CAN, Ethernet, and LIN.
  • Diagnostics, UDS, DoIP.
  • SWDL and bootloaders.
  • AUTOSAR.
  • Testing ISO26262 – Functional safety requirements.

It is meritorious if you have:

  • At least 6+ years of experience in both SW testing and HIL development, especially with VT Rig.
  • Knowledge of how to work in vehicles, connecting equipment, and collecting log files.
  • Experience in programming languages such as Python, C++, .Net.
  • Linux experience.
  • Knowledge in Git and Gerrit (Awareness of CI tools chain and automation).
  • ISTQB certification (Foundation or Advanced).
  • Driver’s license Class B.
