Our client in the automotive industry is currently seeking a Senior SW Design Engineer in Protective Safety.

The client’s unit, Safe Vehicle Automation, develops and delivers leading-edge safety and autonomous driving solutions. They control the vehicle’s six degrees of freedom of movement in the most energy-efficient way, creating a rewarding and confident driving and riding experience. Their mission is to develop and deliver Vehicle Motion and Control, ADAS, Highway Pilot, and Protective Safety.

Department 96200 AD & ADAS Platform and Protective Safety
The department 96200 consists of approximately 160 skilled engineers responsible for research and advanced engineering through to the implementation, verification, and validation of current and future customer offers. They are also responsible for product quality and customer response.
The client’s Agile Release Train (ART) for Protective Safety develops and integrates systems and functionality into complete products, encompassing software, hardware, ECUs, and peripheral sensors. For Protective Safety, electronic sensors and ECUs detect, determine, and activate devices such as airbags and belts in the event of an accident, protecting occupants inside the car and pedestrians outside. Additionally, their ART is responsible for the High-Performance Global Navigation Satellite System (HP GNSS), a major contributor to enabling the Highway Pilot functionality.
Role Description
As a Senior SW System Design Engineer within their ART Protective Safety, you will join one of their Agile Scrum teams. Depending on your previous skills and experience, you will work with various SW Design Engineering features. Your role includes leading and planning work, as well as reporting to management. Collaboration with other teams within the ART, as well as other engineering departments, procurement, production, and testing facilities, is part of your daily responsibilities.
Main Responsibilities
- Plan, lead, and perform the necessary SW design.
- Develop, align, implement, and document relevant requirements with a high focus on performance and robustness.
- Lead technical reviews for the product.
- Align and review system interfaces.
- Actively participate in reviews of Design Validation Methods (DVMs).
Required Qualifications:
- M.Sc or B.Sc in Mathematics, Mechatronics, Electronics, or Physics.
- Extensive work experience as a senior engineer within SW development.
- Experience in SW system design and SW requirements for high-performance computer systems.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Proficiency in Scrum/Agile methodologies.
- Experience in automotive development.
- Knowledge in System/Functional Safety (ISO26262), Cyber Security is advantageous.
- Knowledge in release management is meritorious.
