Assignment Description:

Our client in the automotive industry is currently seeking a Senior Surface Designer, level 3 within the Interior Class-A Surfacing team. The group’s main responsibility is to deliver DSM in the late phases of the design process (Class-A Surfacing), covering the last internal DSM gates of the programs..

Design Department Overview:

Design is a crucial part of creating a brand – a product identity for the customer to relate to. The design of their cars is strongly influenced by their Scandinavian origins, with elegance, function, and purity of lines as strong design elements. Design is a unit of 400 employees divided into a creative part and an operative part that works closely together to fulfill the design task. Our client’s Department 51230, Surface Design, is primarily responsible for creating digital design models (DSM) in close cooperation with project managers, designers, studio engineers, and suppliers.

Main Responsibilities:

• Develop interior surface models from the middle to the late phase of the design process.
• Use sketches, rough Alias models from designers, and scan data from clay models combined with technical input from studio engineers.
• Create models with Class-A quality.
• Sketch model to test new design ideas when needed.

Qualifications:

• Excellent skills in ICEM Surf or Alias.
• Basic skills in CATIA V5.
• At least 7 years of experience in Class-A modelling within the automotive business.
• Knowledge of the technical prerequisites of cars.
• Experience in both interior and exterior modelling is a merit.
• Good verbal skills in English.
