Assignment Description

Our client in the automotive industry is currently seeking a Software Engineer.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Define and simulate future functions.
  • Prototype, integrate, and evaluate the functionality of future products (cars).
  • Work with preliminary and defined function logic and suggest how different functions should work together.
  • Facilitate the deployment of this simulation-based way of working.
  • Help colleagues define future functionality correctly.
  • Integrate functions with each other and ensure the combined behavior delivers a flawless user experience.
  • Assist departments in defining and describing their functions in SysML, mainly using state charts.
  • Bring state charts to life through C++ programming, JavaScript, and Python.
  • Utilize a wide array of evaluation equipment, ranging from regular computers to full-scale driving simulators and virtual reality.
  • Work in a diverse team with mixed engineering backgrounds.
  • Collaborate closely with real-time 3D specialists and product integration architects.
  • Play an important role in the development of new products.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Experience in object-oriented programming, preferably C++.
  • Experience in Python and front-end web development, mainly with React.js.
  • Proven understanding of state machines.
  • Knowledge of systematically going from user needs to a final product. This could mean having studied product development at university or having worked with systems engineering as a function owner, system architect, or similar.

Our client’s current setup will make it easier for you to contribute if you have:

  • Previous experience with Rational Rhapsody Developer and function development with UML/SysML.
  • Experience with React.js and Python, which are used for infotainment.
  • Practical knowledge within control theory, mechatronics, UX, and system safety.

Desired Attributes:

  • Passionate about consumer products and cars (some colleagues watch car reviews at breakfast, though this is not a requirement).
  • Interest in working with innovation and next-generation products.
  • Problem-oriented mindset, especially important in early product development.
  • Ability to think at different abstraction levels.
  • Capability to describe the abilities of a product without mentioning its implementation.
  • Enjoy building gadgets or programming apps as a hobby (you will feel right at home in this role).
  • Strong and inclusive team player, where everyone is helpful and cooperative.
  • Creative and skilled, with the ability to get things done on time and with quality.
  • Organized and accountable, as only finished work has the chance of becoming innovations.
