Assignment Description

Our client in the automotive industry is currently seeking a Cloud Fault Tracing Engineer.

Main Responsibilities:

• Fault Identification and Resolution: After several levels of support, the most challenging issues will reach you and the team. You will be responsible for identifying, diagnosing, and resolving faults within their automotive cloud platform.
• Access to Tools and Systems: You will have direct access to their cloud system running on AWS, using the latest tech stack (K8s, Kafka, Docker), monitoring and fault tracing tools (such as Splunk), and some cars and test rigs to reproduce issues from the start.
• Collaboration with DevOps Teams: Work closely with all DevOps teams to continuously improve their products.
• Global Team Interaction: The cloud expert support team consists of six people working across three time zones (US, EU, China), allowing you to share your experience and collaborate on market-specific implementations.
• Proactive Problem-Solving: This role requires a proactive individual who can work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to address complex technical challenges.

Specific Tasks:

• Improve customer satisfaction by enhancing their experience.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for cloud support for the support teams.
• Engage with various stakeholders to understand the inner workings of services.
• Set up test equipment such as cars and rigs to reproduce issues.
• Stay informed about upcoming changes to anticipate and address potential issues.
• Build comprehensive documentation on resolving misconfigurations.
• Help design interfaces and tools to streamline support processes.

Qualifications:

• Self-driven personality with a problem-solving mindset.
• Ability to handle complexity and create a network of contacts to assist in troubleshooting.
• Experience with cloud technologies and a desire to learn new skills.
• 3-10 years of experience in the field.
• BSc degree or higher in engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
• Good knowledge of:
  • AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Envoy, Istio
  • Jira, GitLab, GitHub, Maven, GitOps, Argo CD
  • Splunk, Linux/ssh/bash, Grafana
