Assignment Description

For our client, we are currently seeking an experienced API Gateway Engineer to design, implement, and manage APIs within our client’s organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of API management platforms, preferably AWS API Gateway, and a solid foundation in API development. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of API-based services, collaborating closely with development and operations teams.

We are searching for someone with a passion for API design and development and a strong desire to contribute to the organization’s overall digital strategy.

Main Responsibilities:

• Design and implement APIs using API management platforms (AWS API Gateway preferred).
• Create and maintain comprehensive API documentation.
• Integrate APIs with backend systems and services.
• Monitor API performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure API alignment with business requirements.
• Implement security best practices for API protection.
• Stay up-to-date with API management trends and technologies.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of API management concepts and platforms (AWS API Gateway preferred).
• Experience in API development and design.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.) for automation.
• Proficiency in Java, Node.js, and React.js.
• Experience with AWS services like CloudFront, S3, SQS, DynamoDB, AWS Lambda functions, and AWS networking components.
• Experience with API security standards and protocols (OAuth, OpenID Connect).
• Knowledge of API testing and performance benchmarking tools.
• Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Good to Have:

• Understanding of cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Agile ways of working, DevSecOps.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
