Assignment Description

Our client in the automotive industry is currently seeking a Data Engineer.

Our client is on an ambitious journey to redefine the customer experience in automotive through digital technology. One success factor is the ability to continuously receive fast feedback from their consumers and cars regarding their products and services. For this purpose, their Co-Development car fleet (CoDev) plays a major role.

The department, Product Validation and Functional Architecture, enables consumer data-driven insights within the company to understand and confirm consumer value for both future and current products. This is achieved by refining data from the Co-Development platform and developing tools that enable data collection and visualization.

Main Responsibilities:

• Deliver quality-assured and privacy-compliant CoDev data products in raw and refined formats adapted to users, enabling data-driven development.
• Maintain data pipelines that ingest CoDev driver feedback combined with metadata from other systems into tables displayed in various places.
• Ensure both uptime and data quality to secure value for all stakeholders and development teams working with these reports.
• Deliver access to signal and diagnostic data from cars in both raw and refined formats.
• Provide a descriptive overview of datasets for stakeholders to quickly understand their deliveries.
• Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, software development teams, architects, and users of their products with varying levels of knowledge in the data area.
• Assist the Product Owner with specific leadership tasks and communicate with stakeholders to fulfill their needs.

• Analytical mindset with experience in data visualization, building dashboards, and interactive graphs (e.g., Power BI).

• Focused on developing scalable products.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in Python, version handling in Git/Gerrit, setting up environments in Docker, and building pipelines in Jenkins.
• Experience working with large datasets, developing test programs, and using Azure Cloud, Snowflake, API management, and SQL.
• Experience with the UDS diagnostic communication protocol used in the automotive industry is an asset.
• MSc degree in Data Science, Data Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Fluent in English.
• Comfortable in a wide variety of system and software development disciplines, including programming, system design, and interfacing with databases.
