Our client in the automotive industry is currently seeking a Software (SW) Test Engineer for their In-house SW & Test team, focused on Side & Roof – Door, Locking, and Alarm functions.
As a Test Engineer, you will join a highly dedicated team responsible for test analysis, test planning, and defining test methods. You will write and execute tests across all abstraction layers in the V-model, planning features and stories within the In-house SW and Test team. The focus will be on door, locking, and alarm functions for verification and validation.
Your tasks will also include fault tracing and administrative trace and coverage analysis on component nodes, system designs, and complete vehicle functions. You will work with various test infrastructures and assets, such as HIL, SIL, and VIL environments, as well as real-life testing on test tracks or roads using test or released vehicles.
The In-house SW and Test team’s goal is to develop the next generation of door, locking, and alarm functionalities while enhancing current solutions. Additionally, the team addresses quality issues, implements running changes, and manages model year updates. As the product also involves hardware, proficiency in electronics and hardware testing is equally important.
Main Responsibilities:
- Participate in the test system flow process by defining test activities, equipment, assets under test, and Device Under Test (DUT) preparedness in collaboration with requirement owners and suppliers.
- Be responsible for function verification, including acceptance tests and regression tests on deliverables from suppliers or in-house developers.
- Conduct component, domain, and complete vehicle testing in Boxcar, SIL, HIL, VIL, and on-vehicle environments.
- Develop test methods and test cases using Carweaver and vTestStudio.
- Write test requirements, plan, and coordinate test activities with the team.
- Create fault reports and assign them to the appropriate receiver for investigation and resolution under the leadership of function or system owners. Review and communicate suppliers’ test reports and results.
- Independently perform fault tracing, logging, and measurements on components, actuators, and signals.
- Ensure work is delivered according to specified acceptance criteria and definitions.
Qualifications:
- Master of Science in electronics, mechatronics, applied physics, or a related field.
- Swedish B-driver’s license is required.
- Knowledge of reading electrical schematics and using instruments such as voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and signal generators.
- Experience in the automotive industry.
- Experience with automated verification of system design and software.
- Preferred experience with the following tools: Elektra, Canalyzer/Canoe, Inca, DSA, CarConfig, CarCom.
- Experience with test automation tools, e.g., Vector hardware and software.
