Scope for testing:

• App-development by external supplier
• Custom development of platform with basic generic capabilities like management of users, device from all suppliers, etc.
• Delivery of IoT platform capabilities and technology from external supplier 
• Delivery of additional IoT devices
• Integrations between all systems, testing of interfaces specifically (preferably automated) as well as end to end

Responsibilities:

• Define test-strategy
• Drive and align test plans across teams:
• Testing in each area and part of the solution. What are the responsibilities when it comes to things like e.g.
  • Functional testing 
  • Integration testing
  • Unit testing
  • Use to DevOps as the tool to create, manage, execute and follow up on testcase execution and resulting defects
  • Defects management 

Skill set – experience from:

• B2C and everything that comes with dealing with end user consumers
• Technology intense (rather than process) and hardware-based solutions (preferably IoT devices)
• Driving multiple supplier teams with different responsibilities
• E2E testing through system environments with integrations
• DevOps as a tool for requirements and planning in general, and the use of the Test Plans option in DevOps in particular
• Use of automation where appropriate (e.g. unit/integration/UI)
• Clearly reporting the current status across all teams and creating and following up on relevant metrics

Personality:

• Needs to be a leader when it comes to quality and should influence people around them to think about quality in their tasks and daily work. 
• Able to guide and drive the teams who are a mix of people from suppliers, individual consultants, and employees
• Able to manage the fact that not everything might be in place from the start – we’ll have to jointly get missing pieces in place
• Not afraid of getting into the details – that can mean creating test cases and executing them, if that’s needed
