Assignment Description 

Our client is currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer as part of their growing development team. They are hiring at both junior and senior levels, and while this ad focuses on a more junior role, senior engineers are encouraged to apply for other available positions. Role Overview

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be part of a development team of 5-7 engineers, collaborating with a project manager. Your role will involve taking customer projects from concept to complete product, engaging directly with customers to understand their requirements, and working closely with electrical engineers to ensure optimal mechanical and electrical performance. You will also liaise with suppliers to find the best manufacturing solutions and ensure the design meets performance standards.

Main Responsibilities:

• Mechanical design and verification of antennas and other components.
• Establish mechanical drawings and system designs for new mechanical concepts.
• Ensure designs are manufacturable at high volumes.
• Serve as the technical interface with suppliers, manufacturers, and customers.

Required Qualifications:

• University degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field.
• Experience with mechanical CAD work.
• Proficiency in English and basic computer programming.
• Strong interest and drive towards technical excellence.

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience with components and antennas in waveguide technology.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as injection moulding, metallisation, die-casting, stamping, and etching.
• Experience in the automotive industry.
• Familiarity with high-volume production and mechanical specification drawings.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma or similar statistical tools.
• Experience in using SolidWorks.
