Assignment Description
Our client in the automotive industry is currently seeking a professional for the role of SW & Electronics Core System (ART CIS). In the execution of their development strategy, there is a need to focus on balancing and securing system characteristics for the Core System, including all applications (i.e., “SW-on-HW Core System”). The distributed way of working emphasizes the need for centralized guidance and quality assurance.
This centralized guidance is hosted and driven by the SW & Electronics Core System (ART CIS), with the following main responsibilities:
- Setting, guiding, driving, and safeguarding the coherence to the strategies and architecture to ensure Core System quality and performance.
- Managing and balancing shared Core System resources.
- Ensuring integration, testing, troubleshooting, and optimization for the shared Core System resources.
- Running release and lifecycle management.
Main Responsibilities:
As part of an agile team utilizing the SAFe methodology, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the shared Core System resources (memory, CPU, wake-up times, etc.).
- Guiding, driving, and safeguarding the systemization of the “SW-on-HW Core System” (Platform + all Apps) by:
- Defining the architecture.
- Providing core-specific requirements.
- Offering a framework with design principles and patterns (including WoW).
- Nurturing and optimizing the Core System product.
- Defining and monitoring KPIs to measure trends and system characteristics.
- Managing quality indicators and handling technical debt.
- Initiating or motivating refactoring when necessary, with the goal of optimizing product performance.
Required Qualifications:
- M.Sc. in Electrical or Software Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
- Relevant experience in designing and/or defining software architecture, principles, and patterns for embedded systems.
- A genuine interest in technical areas related to Software and Electronics Architecture.
- Strong communication skills in both written and spoken English.
- Solid foundation in software design, with the ability to define and break down strategies into patterns or detailed requirements.
- Expertise in facilitating planning, tracking, and scheduling implementations/deliverables.
- Ability to develop strong working relationships with development teams, software engineers, and other stakeholders.
Additional Qualifications:
- Strong technical background in Embedded Linux, QNX, and general POSIX, with excellent IT skills.
- Experience in coding, object-oriented design, and design patterns.
- Ability to develop a unified vision for software characteristics and functions.
- Experience working with platform features and throughout the full software development lifecycle, including problem definition, design, development, and release.
- Knowledge of memory, CPU, and wake-up time optimization for Core Systems.
- Experience defining and monitoring KPIs for system performance and quality indicators.
- Ability to handle technical debt and initiate or motivate refactoring when necessary.
